Nominations open for National Defence Innovation Awards

Organisers of the Land Forces 2016 Exposition are calling for nominations for the second round of Land Forces Industry Innovation Awards. These National Awards recognise and reward companies and individuals who are at the forefront of defence industry innovation.

Nominations close 27 June, with a short list of candidates to be drawn up by 25 July. The awards will be presented at Land Forces 2016, to be held at the Adelaide Exhibition Centre from 6 to 8 September 2016.

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

• Land Forces National Industry Innovation Award
• Land Forces SME Industry Innovation Grant ($10,000 grant)
• Land Forces Young Innovator Scholarship for Industry Innovation ($10,000 scholarship).

The awards are managed by Land Defence Australia, a division of national not-for-profit foundation Industry Defence and Security Australia Limited—the organisers of the biennial Land Forces Exposition. The awards reflect the foundation's mission to promote the development of Australia's defence industries and recognise and reward the skills and expertise that exist within Australia and the innovative work being undertaken.

The awards are open to Australian companies or Australian subsidiaries of overseas parent companies.
