Queensland Government releases Aerospace 10-Year Roadmap discussion paper

This week the Queensland Government released the Queensland Aerospace 10-Year Roadmap discussion paper for public consultation.

The discussion paper will form the basis for consultation across Queensland with industry, government and other stakeholders. Feedback will inform the development of a 10-year Roadmap and Action Plan that will support the growth of the state’s aerospace sector.

Queensland is recognised as an Asia-Pacific aviation centre of excellence and Aerospace is an industry that has global growth potential, with opportunity for it to be a major contributor to jobs and the economy.

The Aerospace Roadmap and Action Plan is one of six being developed by the Department of State Development as part of the Queensland Government’s Advance Queensland Future Jobs Strategy. This strategy aims to build on our competitive strengths, invest in knowledge-based jobs for the future and drive innovation-led economic growth by encouraging new industry and research collaborations.

The Aerospace discussion paper was developed in consultation with industry and across government. Consultation on the Aerospace discussion paper is now open and runs through to 27 May. It will include workshops throughout May around the state, including in Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, the Wide Bay region, Mackay, Townsville and Cairns.

You can have your say by completing our online survey.

The Defence Industries Queensland team will analyse all responses, and the final Queensland Aerospace 10-Year Roadmap and Action Plan is scheduled for release later this year.
