Queensland companies shine at export awards

Defence supplier Packer Leather has taken out the 2015 Exporter of the Year Award at the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards, while Ferra and Tritium took out category prizes and EM Solutions was nominated as a finalist.

The overall winner, Packer Leather, is based in Narangba and processes kangaroo leather products for a range of industries and organisations, including international defence forces.

Brisbane engineering company Ferra, who are supplying to the Joint Strike Fighter program, won the Small Business category and Business Services Award, while Tritium, who produce a range of power electric systems, battery packs and chargers, won the Richard Joel Award and were shortlisted for the Environmental Solutions and Small Business awards.

Communications company EM Solutions were finalists for the Information and Communication Technology and Manufacturing categories.

The awards acknowledge the contribution Queensland companies make to the state’s economy through revenue and job creation.
