New permanent air force squadron in weipa

New permanent Air Force squadron in Weipa

Number 112 Squadron in Weipa has been deemed a permanent squadron, with Assistant Minister for Defence, Darren Chester, presenting the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Ensign to the squadron on 10 October 2015.

112 Squadron is currently home to five RAAF personnel and forty-one cadets and is expected to grow.

Over the past 60 years, the wing has provided training and youth development activities across regional Queensland including supervised training in powered flying and gliding, communication, bush survival and basic engineering.
