Craig International Ballistics opens new smart manufacturing facility

Gold Coast company Craig International Ballistics, who develop protective body armour for the Australian Defence Force and Australian Police Force, has opened a smart manufacturing facility.

The new facility includes a second computer-controlled cutting machine that allows production of complex body armour shapes and a 33-tonne hydraulic press that uses more than 4000 tonnes of pressure to make hard ballistic armour plates.

The company has also hired more than 30 engineers, technicians, machine operators and support staff to support their increasing product demand.
