Australian Army commissions two new Boeing CH-47F Chinook aircraft in Townsville

The Australian Defence Force has commissioned two new Boeing CH-47F Chinook advanced configuration aircraft at RAAF Base Townsville to upgrade the Australian Army's fleet of cargo helicopters.

Five additional CH-47F helicopters will be delivered in 2015 to eventually replace the existing fleet of CH-47D Chinooks and Boeing Defence Australia will provide delivery and on-site maintenance support for the aircraft.
