Airbus to conduct technical modification of ARH Tigers in Queensland

The Hon David Johnston, Minister for Defence, has given combined pass approval for an interim Tactical Data Link for the Australian Army's ARH (Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter) Tigers.

Work will be done under LAND 2089 Phase 3B to upgrade the helicopters with tactical information exchange solutions. This will further integrate the Tiger into the combined arms land force battlespace to improve situational awareness.

In a win for Queensland, the aircraft's technical modification works will be undertaken by Airbus Group Australia Pacific in Brisbane. Airbus will manage industry opportunities related to the upgrade along with Elbit Systems of Australia - the software and battle management system developer for the project.
