Applications open for inaugural Advance Queensland Research Fellowships

The Queensland Government's new Advance Queensland initiative is offering research fellowships, worth $28.5 million, to support emerging research leaders over the next three years.

The Advance Queensland Research Fellowships aim to promote original research and assist in attracting and keeping the best and brightest research minds in Queensland, while building the state's reputation and capacity to conduct innovative research and development.

Fellowship recipients will be working with Queensland research institutions, in collaboration with industry, to turn great ideas into commercial outcomes.

The following grants are available:

• early-career fellowships - $180,000 over three years
• mid-career fellowships - $300,000 over three years.

Applications are open to Australian citizens, or those who have Australian residency for the duration of the fellowship, with PhD research qualifications and post-PhD research experience.
