Toll Remote Logistics win Excellence in Military Logistics award
The repatriation of the Australian Defence Forces' (ADF) equipment from Afghanistan in 2014 was by no means an easy task. Toll Remote Logistics managed the complex project and have consequently been recognised for their work with the Excellence in Military Logistics award at the 2015 SMART Supply Chain & Logistics Conference.
The drawdown involved transporting hundreds of pieces of ADF equipment from Afghanistan to their originating bases in Australia via road, sea and air. Toll Remote Logistics also provided quarantine cleaning and inspection for all equipment on arrival into Australia. They have been recognised for the efficiency with which their supply chain operations were developed and executed, and the contribution of the supply chain to the overall success of the mission.
Toll Remote Logistics General Manager, Elle Hilton, accepted the award for the Defence and Government team and acknowledged the outstanding communication skills demonstrated by the team during the project.
'The team was able to meet a range of cultural and language challenges during cross-border transactions, while leveraging Toll's global network of suppliers,' Ms Hilton said. 'Their willingness and ability to go above and beyond to meet our customer’s needs within tight time frames was critical to the success of this project, and instrumental to this award win.'
