Defence Q at LAND FORCES
6-8 October, Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre, Western Australia
The Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition – Australia’s premier land-based defence capability industry event was held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre from 6-8 October 2026.
This biennial event showcases technology, equipment and services related to the land defence sector.
Land Forces provides an interface between Australian, regional and international industry on every level, from Defence Force customers to prime contractors and small to medium enterprises.
Queensland Government stand
The Queensland Government and Defence Q exhibited at Land Forces 2026 on the Queensland Government stand, partnering with some of Queensland’s leading defence industry businesses to promote our state’s defence capabilities.
Team Queensland’s presence at Land Forces 2026 provided a platform to strengthen partnerships and create opportunities for businesses across the defence supply chain to connect with key land defence decision-makers from Australia and around the world. It also enabled Queensland to highlight our growing role in shaping Australia's defence future.
Land Forces 2024 Defence and industry leaders’ networking breakfast
On Wednesday 7 October, Defence Q and NIOA co-hosted a networking breakfast at the Parmelia Hilton Hotel, Perth, for Defence and industry leaders attending Land Forces 2026.
The breakfast was attended by more than 180 representatives from industry, Defence and government. Keynote addresses were delivered by the Hon. Jarrod Bleijie MP, Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning, and Minister for Industrial Relations; Mr Rob Nioa, Group CEO and Executive Chair of the NIOA Group; and Mr Justin Giddings, CEO of AMDA, organisers of Land Forces. The Queensland Government’s Strategic Defence Advisor for Land, Brigadier Michael Say, DSC (Ret’d) MC’d the event.
Queensland selected to host Land Forces 2030
At the networking breakfast, it was announced that Queensland had secured the right to host Land Forces 2030, bringing the exposition back to Brisbane in a major win for the state's defence industry. The event is expected to attract thousands of domestic and overseas delegates, further strengthening Queensland's position as a leading destination for defence investment, innovation and industry collaboration.
This is a signification opportunity that recognises Queensland's role in shaping Australia's defence industry and the strong partnerships, capabilities and industry growth we continue to foster across the state.
Through Defence Q, the Queensland Government will continue working alongside industry to build on this momentum, creating new opportunities for Queensland businesses, while further strengthening our state's reputation as a leading destination to deliver defence.
Securing Land Forces 2030 will create new opportunities for Queensland businesses to showcase their expertise, connect with decision-makers and contribute to Australia's sovereign defence capability while driving investment and jobs across the state.
