LAND 400 Phase 2 – Australian industry supply chain opportunities

LAND 400 Phase 2 is the Australian Army's largest ever capability acquisition project for combat reconnaissance vehicles. The Australian Government's procurement process for Phase 2 has entered what is formally known as the Risk Mitigation Activity with the two shortlisted companies, BAE Systems Australia and Rheinmetall Defence Australia.

The 12-month Risk Mitigation Activity involves a test and evaluation program of the vehicles, including against improvised explosive devices. Another significant element of the Risk Mitigation Activity is increasing opportunities for Australian industry involvement in the project.

The Department of Defence has developed an Australian Industry Opportunity Roadmap that lists the specific product and capability areas identified by the two shortlisted companies as opportunities for local industry participation.
