Boeing wins Defence contract to upgrade battlefield communications network

Boeing Defence Australia has been awarded a $665 million contract with the Department of Defence to upgrade military communications for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

This represents a critical milestone in achieving a modern and networked Army.

The contract will see Boeing design, develop and deliver a new digital communications system which will enable deplored forces to operate more effectively by increasing information sharing capability; improving the capacity, flexibility and responsiveness of the ADF during operations.

The contracts will be managed from the Boeing Defence Australia Brisbane facility and include subcontracts with Harris Communications Australia and GH Varley.
