Defence Industries Queensland at Avalon 2017

Queensland's leading aerospace and air defence organisations were on show to a record crowd of more than 210,000 at the Australian International Aerospace and Defence Exposition—Avalon 2017.

Defence Industries Queensland (DIQld) exhibited at the event, hosting 13 partners on the Queensland Government stand.

The industry-only trade days attracted nearly 34,000 attendees providing unrivalled exposure for the 664 exhibitors. Organisers have estimated that exhibitors were exposed to more than $24 billion worth of business opportunities.

In addition to hosting industry partners on the Queensland Government stand, DIQld held a highly targeted business networking reception and provided support for other Queensland organisations represented at Avalon 2017.

Queensland Government Defence and aerospace business leaders' networking reception

On Wednesday 1 March 2017, Defence Industries Queensland hosted a reception for Defence and aerospace business leaders attending Avalon 2017, at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne.

The reception was attended by more than 150 representatives from industry, Defence and government. Keynote addresses were delivered by the Queensland Government’s Director-General Michael Schaumburg, and Centre for Defence Industry Capability (CDIC) Board Member and HTA’s Director, Dr Karen Stanton.
