Prior to 1 October 2014, section 26(1)(b) of the State Development and Public Works Organisation Act 1971 enabled the Coordinator-General to declare a proposed development a 'coordinated project for which an EIS is not required', provided he was satisfied that:
- an environmental impact assessment was not required, or
- an appropriate environmental impact assessment had been, or would be, carried out under other legislation (e.g. Environmental Protection Act 1994, Sustainable Planning Act 2009, or Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999).
Since 1 October 2014, there has been no provision to declare a coordinated project not requiring and EIS. Section 26(1)(b) was amended to replace this with a project for which an impact assessment report (IAR) is required.
The following projects were declared 'coordinated projects for which an EIS is not required'.
